Hospitals & LectureTheatres
Sound, induction loop and vision systems for hospitals and lecture theatres. Each system is custom-built ensuring that it meets the needs of the user and building without being over complicated. Listed below are various applications where we have installed a system.
Two Way Audio & Vision Communication System
Two way audio and vision communication system for use in teaching hospitals, schools, colleges and other situations where students or colleagues need to see and communicate with a professional carrying out a procedure in a remote location. We have installed several systems where the operating theatre and lecture theatre have been several hundred metres apart and in different buildings.
When installed in a hospital, the system uses cameras in the operating theatre controlled from a small trolley unit in the lecture theatre. This allows the lecturer to focus on a particular part of the procedure without having to leave the front of the lecture theatre or, more importantly, disturbing staff in the operating theatre. The output from the cameras can be recorded for future reference as well as being projected onto a suitable screen. The surgeon wears a extremely lightweight head band radio microphone that clips onto the ear meaning it is very secure without being a distraction to the surgeon. This arrangement allows the surgeon to speak to the lecture theatre as if they were speaking to a colleague in the operating theatre. A hand held radio microphone is provided for use in the lecture theatre allowing students to make comments and ask questions directly to the surgeon via a small speaker in the operating theatre.

Lecture Theatres
We have installed several sound, induction loop and vision systems in various lecture theatres. As would be expected each system is different in order to meet the requirements of the user and building. In general each system uses a lectern with limited audio and vision controls with the system controlled from a control booth at the rear of the lecture theatre. We can custom build the lectern to meet your requirements making it large enough to place a laptop computer, on as well other equipment such as a visuliser. Switches are normally provided on the lectern allowing the lecturer to control two slide projectors at the rear of the hall or switch between inputs on a projector. Space is also provided in the lectern allowing a video or DVD player to be located in the lectern and connected via a switcher unit to the projector. One or more stem microphones are normally provided on the lectern complete with a volume control allowing adjustment of the overall volume level in the lecture theatre.
